Lauren Spencer Smith’s first full-length album will be released on July 14th and it’s a deeply personal undertaking.
“I’ve been working on this album for years,” she says. “It has been with me through so much in my life, the highs and the lows, and it means more to me than I can put into words. It tells a story of reflection, healing and growth.
“I went through a hard breakup, and the album tells the story of that all, the journey of that and now being in a more happy relationship. The title comes from the one thing in my life that’s seen me in every emotion through that journey— my bedroom and bathroom mirror.”
Born on September 28, 2003, Lauren Spencer-Smith is a talented English singer and songwriter who was raised in Canada. Despite showing an early aptitude for music, Lauren struggled to balance her passion with her job and school responsibilities, which were necessary to support her family. However, after her cover of “Always Remember Us This Way” went viral in April 2019, she decided to leave her job and focus on her music career.
Last year, she received a nomination for the Juno Award in the Adult Contemporary Album of the Year category. Additionally, she showcased her talent on American Idol and made it to the top 20 finalists. Later on, she gained popularity on TikTok, which resulted in her single “Fingers Crossed” climbing the charts and securing a label partnership.
