Kane Brown, Can Feel It Download MP3

Kane Brown’s “I Can Feel It” becomes third pop song this week to sample Phil Collins’ “In the Air Tonight.”

Sometimes, an old song that you haven’t heard for a while suddenly starts playing everywhere. This can happen for different reasons – maybe the song’s publisher has started promoting it heavily, or perhaps it’s just a coincidence. Right now, it’s happening with “In The Air Tonight,” a hit song from 1981 by Phil Collins that features a famous drum break.

Interestingly, “In The Air Tonight” wasn’t a huge hit in the US when it was first released. However, it has never really disappeared from popular culture. It keeps showing up in various places: the iconic montage in the pilot episode of Miami Vice, the sample on 2Pac’s “Starin’ Through My Rear View,” the namecheck on Eminem’s “Stan,” the scene in the movie Paid In Full outside the club, and the Cadbury commercial with the gorilla. And now, there are three new songs that use elements from “In The Air Tonight.”

Last week, Diddy released “Another One Of Me,” a single that features a sample from “In The Air Tonight,” along with French Montana and 21 Savage. It also includes what is apparently supposed to be the Weeknd’s last-ever feature. A few days later, a bizarre cover of “In The Air Tonight” by Chris Stapleton, Snoop Dogg, and young drum prodigy Cindy Blackman became the new theme for ESPN’s Monday Night Football. And now, there’s a third song that borrows from “In The Air Tonight.”

Country star Kane Brown has just released his new single, “I Can Feel It.” The song begins with the famous drum fill from “In The Air Tonight,” which somewhat loses the slow-building tension of the original. In the chorus, Brown sings about how he can feel it in the air, in the whiskey, in his hand, and in his hips. It sounds like the Nashville music industry is trying to create its own version of “Blinding Lights.” You can listen to the song below.

LYRICS

  • Saw your boots bounce to the beat
  • You said, “Do you dance? Wanna dance with me?”
  • Next thing I know, I started to think
  • That we might be onto somethin’
