Empress Of and Rina Sawayama have collaborated on a new single titled ‘Kiss Me’.
Empress Of has released a new single titled ‘Kiss Me’, featuring Rina Sawayama. This marks Empress Of’s first release since last year’s Save Me EP and is also the first preview of her upcoming studio album. The track is accompanied by a music video directed by India Harris and shot in the English countryside.
Empress Of recently opened for Rina Sawayama on a European tour and has just kicked off another run of dates with Sawayama in North America. To celebrate, they have teamed up for a new single called “Kiss Me”.
Unfortunately, it is not a cover of Sixpence None The Richer’s song, but it is Empress Of’s first new release since last year’s Save Me EP and a teaser for an upcoming studio album. This new release follows Empress Of’s recent collaborations with Jam City and Lewis OfMan. “Kiss Me” comes with a music video that was directed by India Harris and shot in the English countryside.
Lorely Rodriguez, who goes by the stage name Empress Of, is a singer, songwriter, musician, and record producer. She is of Honduran-American descent and resides in Los Angeles, California. Rodriguez has released three studio albums so far, all under the labels XL Recordings and Terrible Records. Her debut album, Me, Us, was critically acclaimed, as was her second album, I’m Your Empress Of.
Rina Sawayama, a Japanese-British singer, actress, and model, was born in Niigata, Japan. She moved to London with her family when she was five years old. Sawayama self-released her debut extended play, Rina, in 2017. After signing to Dirty Hit in 2020, Sawayama released her debut studio album, Sawayama, which received critical acclaim.
