Wild Nothing‘s “Hold” Album Download Leak MP3 ZIP Files

Wild Nothing, the American indie rock/dream pop band from Blacksburg, Virginia, is set to release a new album titled ‘Hold’ on October 27. This marks the band’s first new LP in five years, spearheaded by Jack Tatum, the project’s founder.

Although the band has been quiet regarding album releases, Tatum has been busy collaborating with other artists, such as Japanese Breakfast and Molly Burch. The upcoming album, ‘Hold,’ is Tatum’s first self-produced record since his breakout 2010 debut, Gemini.

During the early stages of fatherhood, Tatum turned to dance music to reconnect with his body and alleviate the anxiety that accompanied this new stage in his life. The new album, ‘Hold,’ showcases his deft songwriting skills while still honoring the shoegaze-inspired, 80s synth-pop atmosphere of Wild Nothing’s past. Tatum has brought the beloved sounds of Wild Nothing and fused them with electronica-inspired music, bringing his music in fresh directions.

The album’s influences range from the sad side of Charli XCX to the techno-pop of Yellow Magic Orchestra, childhood favorites such as The Chemical Brothers and Orbital, and the accessible art-rock of So-era Peter Gabriel.

‘Hold’ is the band’s first self-produced album since their 2010 debut ‘Gemini,’ featuring guest contributions from Tatum’s wife, Dana, and Hatchie, Molly Burch, Becca Mancari, and Beach Fossils’ Tommy Davidson. The lead single from the album, “Headlights On,” featuring Hatchie, has already been released along with a video for the song.

In a press statement, Tatum said, “It’s my first record as a father. My first self-produced record since my debut. It’s a record that deals in existential themes, but doesn’t always take itself too seriously. It’s not afraid of pop, but it’s hopefully not afraid to be strange either. It has fun, gets sad, dwells in the quiet moments and embraces the loud ones. It’s me doing what I love and feeling grateful for it.”
