Little Big Town is celebrating its 25th anniversary with the release of their Greatest Hits album on August 9. The group’s original members, Jimi Westbrook, Kimberly Schlapman, Karen Fairchild, and Phillip Sweet, have remained in the lineup, showcasing a remarkable unity.
In a typical country song, the standard chord consists of three notes, but Little Big Town sets itself apart with its four-part harmony.
This unique approach has contributed to the group’s success and longevity. Little Big Town made its debut at the Grand Ole Opry in May 1999, performed the national anthem at an Oscar de la Hoya boxing match in Las Vegas shortly after, and received its first concert payment of $2,000 after opening for Dwight Yoakam just four weeks later.
As part of the 25th-anniversary celebrations, Little Big Town’s Greatest Hits album will feature three new collaborations: a cover of Phil Collins’ “Take Me Home” with Sugarland, a reworking of the 2010 LBT track “Shut Up Train” featuring Kelsea Ballerini, and an updated version of the band’s 2010 single “Little White Church” with Miranda Lambert, whose performance has been praised by Phillip Sweet.
In addition to the album release, Little Big Town is set to embark on a Take Me Home Tour, performing in 18 arenas with Sugarland. Furthermore, NBC will air a two-hour holiday special, “Little Big Town’s Christmas at the Opry,” featuring a lineup of special guests.
Throughout their 25-year journey, Little Big Town has experienced significant changes, including label transitions, marriages within the band, personal loss, and the integration of parenthood into their lives, all of which have added complexity and depth to their musical journey.

About Artist:
Little Big Town is an American country music vocal group from Homewood, Alabama. The group was founded in 1998 and has maintained the same four members since its inception: Karen Fairchild, Kimberly Schlapman (née Roads), Phillip Sweet, and Jimi Westbrook. Their musical style is characterized by four-part vocal harmonies, with all four members taking turns as lead vocalists.
Following an unsuccessful recording deal with Mercury Nashville Records, Little Big Town released its self-titled debut album on Monument Records in 2002. The album spawned two minor country chart singles before the group parted ways with the label. In 2005, they signed with Equity Music Group, an independent record label owned by Clint Black. Their second album, “The Road to Here,” was released that year and received a platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
