Beabadoobee is about to release her third studio album, which is her most musically confident one to date. It’s always exciting to have the chance to listen to albums before their official release date. Doing so offers a fresh way to experience the music, especially for an artist like Beabadoobee. “This Is How Tomorrow Moves” is a strong third album for Bea and showcases her growth as an artist.

The lead single “Take A Bite” sets the tone for the rest of the album with its catchy hook and vivid storytelling. “California” follows, with a distinct beat that establishes it as one of the edgier songs on the album. The chorus is pure bliss, with Bea’s soft voice complementing the electric guitar hook and creating a perfect musical contrast.

“One Time” is a feel-good track that immerses listeners in a whimsical soundscape, while “Beaches,” towards the end of the album, feels like a more guitar-driven counterpart. “Real Man” carries a swing-style melody, exuding a retro-jazz vibe while remaining true to Beabadoobee’s style. As the album progresses and reveals its diversity, Bea showcases herself as a multifaceted artist. “Tie My Shoes” and “Coming Home” are driven by gentle acoustic guitars, with the latter resembling a more mature version of her viral hit “Glue Song.”

Throughout the album, Beabadoobee invites us into her mind with descriptive lyricism and authenticity. “Girl Song” stands out, with Bea openly discussing her insecurities, from body image to relationships, in this piano ballad. “Everseen” offers familiar twinkling acoustics, grounding fans with the album’s third single. “Post” particularly shines toward the album’s end, blending dad-rock with Sheryl Crow’s style in an exceptional way.

As we approach the end of the album, the seemingly country-inspired track “Everything I Want” and the warm acoustics of “The Man Who Left Too Soon” create a soothing vibe. The album concludes on a perfect note with “This Is How It Went,” with lyrics discussing the relationship between songwriting and breakups.

Across fourteen songs, Beabadoobee proves that she continues to improve. “This Is How Tomorrow Moves” is a nuanced and introspective body of work, demonstrating Beabadoobee’s artistic development while maintaining her distinctive style. Fans will undoubtedly love this upcoming release.
