Tyler-Justin Anthony Sharpe, known professionally as Lil Tecca, is an American rapper, singer-songwriter, and producer. He gained widespread recognition with the release of his single “Ransom” in 2019, which reached number four on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. This was followed by the release of his debut mixtape “We Love You Tecca,” which also peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 chart and included the singles “Love Me” and “Did It Again.”
His debut studio album, “Virgo World,” was released in 2020 and reached number ten on the Billboard 200 chart. Subsequently, his second and third albums, “We Love You Tecca 2” (2021) and “Tec” (2023), achieved similar chart positions. Singles such as “Never Left” and “500lbs” from these albums received platinum certifications from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
In 2021, Tecca collaborated with American rapper Gunna on the single “Repeat It.” Additionally, he released his second studio album, “We Love You Tecca 2,” as a follow-up to his debut mixtape, and embarked on the Tecca Loves You Tour with tana, Bktherula, and yvngxchris.

He came to widespread prominence after his 2019 single “Ransom” debuted at number four on the Billboard Hot 100. The song came before the release of his debut mixtape, We Love You Tecca (2019), which debuted at number four on the Billboard 200 and featured the follow-up singles “Love Me” and “Did It Again.” His debut studio album, Virgo World (2020), debuted at number 10 on the Billboard 200, and his second and third albums, We Love You Tecca 2 (2021) and Tec (2023), charted similarly. The latter two produced the songs “Never Left” and “500lbs,” both of which were certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA).
When Tecca was nine years old, he indulged his passion for music by rapping with his pals on his Xbox. They would create diss recordings intended for each other, two of which were uploaded to SoundCloud years ago but have since been removed.
His first successful single, “Tectri,” was created in partnership with his pal Lil Gummybear and released in early 2017. His other preliminary tracks include “Callin.” Tecca’s career took off just a year later with his breakthrough tune, “Ransom,” which premiered on Cole Bennett’s Lyrical Lemonade YouTube channel on May 22, 2019. The song peaked at number four on the Billboard Hot 100 list, with over 1 billion Spotify plays and 400 million YouTube views.
Tecca debuted with his mixtape We Love You Tecca, which was published on August 30, 2019. The mixtape peaked at number four on the US Billboard 200. Following the release of several songs in 2020, Tecca’s debut album, Virgo World, was released on September 18, 2020. Tecca’s song “Show Me Up” was released on April 6, 2021. He released the single “Never Left” on May 6, 2021, and it peaked at number 54 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Tecca and American rapper Gunna collaborated on the single “Repeat It,” which was released on August 6, 2021. Tecca’s second studio album, We Love You Tecca 2, was released on August 27, 2021, as a follow-up to his initial mixtape. He later performed on the Tecca Loves You Tour alongside Tana, Bktherula, and YvngxChris.
