Over the past 9 months, Austin Richard Post, better known as Post Malone, has enthusiastically embraced country music. He has collaborated and performed with various country artists, from his tribute performance to Joe Diffie at the CMA’s with Morgan Wallen and HARDY, to his country cover set at Stagecoach featuring Brad Paisley, Sara Evans, and others. He has also teased his upcoming album with appearances from Luke Combs and Chris Stapleton. Post Malone has worked with several country singers, including Morgan Wallen on “I Had Some Help” and Blake Shelton on “Pour Me a Drink.” He recently teased a new song with Hardy titled “Would You Hide My Gun,” set to be released on his upcoming country album, “F-1 Trillion.”
The song debuted live at Marathon Music Works during Malone and Bud Light’s A Night In Nashville Concert. Post Malone brought out several artists to join him on stage, including Joe Nichols, Blake Shelton, and Sierra Ferrell. The crowd went wild when Post Malone introduced Hardy and praised his talent.
In the clip, the singer shared a brief snippet of an upcoming collaboration with Chris Stapleton. “She whispered pull it over, I said you’re the boss / In a southern drawl said here’s where I get off / I’ve enjoyed the time / She said baby give me one more kiss before I kiss your a– goodbye.”
On February 11, 2024, Post Malone performed “America the Beautiful” at the Super Bowl LVIII. On February 5, the tracklist for Taylor Swift’s 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” was revealed via her social media accounts, and it featured Malone on the first track titled “Fortnight.” Malone later expressed his support for this on social media. The album was released on April 19, 2024, with “Fortnight” chosen as the lead single, and its music video was released on the same day. When it was released, “Fortnight” set the single-day streaming record for any song on Spotify, surpassing the all-time peak previously held by Mariah Carey’s song “All I Want For Christmas Is You” (1994).
