YG has officially released the third installment of the Just Re’d Up series on Aug. 16th. This release marks his reunion with DJ Mustard, the longtime collaborator who played a pivotal role in curating the first two Just Re’d Up albums. Together, they have created the distinct West Coast hip-hop sound.
This collaboration has breathed new life into the legacy of classic West Coast rap, leaving a significant impact on communities and inspiring emerging artists and longtime fans. The sound of this series has become synonymous with defining the contemporary West Coast scene and influencing a new generation of artists.
As a prominent figure in West Coast hip-hop, YG pays homage to his earlier Just Re’d Up albums through the cover art. The artwork depicts YG dressed in a sleek all-black outfit, exuding a sense of power and sophistication. The backdrop features three luxury cars, symbolizing his journey and success in the music industry. Additionally, YG is seen holding a red Louis Vuitton duffle bag, a nostalgic nod to the cover of his first album, designed to resonate with longtime fans while inviting new listeners into his artistic evolution.
Recently, YG delivered a stunning performance at Kendrick Lamar’s Juneteenth celebration, “The Pop Out: Ken & Friends,” at the Kia Forum in Inglewood. He has also released two new singles, “Shake” and “Weird,” along with visually captivating music videos. Furthermore, YG has announced his upcoming “JUST RE’D UP” tour, which will include special guests Doe Boy and DJ Vision on June 28th in Los Angeles, CA.

About Artist:
American rapper Keenon Dequan Ray Jackson, better known by his stage moniker YG (short for Young Gangsta), was born on March 9, 1990. In 2008, he released his first mixtape, 4Fingaz, followed by The Real 4Fingaz the following year. In the latter case, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) certified the song “Toot It and Boot It,” a local hit, as platinum. It debuted at number 67 on the Billboard Hot 100. In October 2009, he inked a recording deal with Def Jam Recordings, which in 2013 formed a joint venture with Atlanta-based rapper Jeezy’s record label, CTE World.
“My Nigga,” his 2013 single featuring Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan, reached its highest position on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 19. His first studio album, My Krazy Life (2014), was released soon after the song and its follow-ups, “Left, Right” (with DJ Mustard) and “Who Do You Love?” (featuring Drake). The album debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and received favorable reviews. Additionally, in 2014, he had a cameo appearance on Jeremih’s single “Don’t Tell ‘Em,” which is still his highest-charting song and reached number six on the Hot 100. Despite having a less commercial focus, his second album, Still Brazy (2016), was well-received by critics for its exploration of political and social topics.
