Bryson LaShun Potts, known professionally as NLE Choppa (previously YNR Choppa), is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee, born on November 1, 2002. He gained fame with his 2019 single “Shotta Flow,” which was certified platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) and reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. This single was released before his debut extended play (EP), Cottonwood, in December of the same year.
Potts signed with Warner Records to release his debut studio album, Top Shotta, in 2020, which peaked in the top ten of the US Billboard 200. The album was supported by the top 40 singles “Camelot” and “Walk Em Down” (featuring Roddy Ricch). Following this, he released his fourth and fifth mixtapes, From Dark to Light (2020) and Me vs. Me (2022), before dropping his second studio album, Cottonwood 2, in 2023. This album included his highest-charting single, “Slut Me Out,” which was remixed featuring Sexyy Red.
NLE Choppa recently released his latest project, SLUT SZN, which serves as the final installment of his “Slut Me Out” trilogy. The trilogy began with the original song in 2022 and continued with “Slut Me Out 2” and “Slut Me Out 3” this year. The album includes a mix of previously released hits and new tracks, as well as collaborations with artists like Carey Washington and J.P. for the “country mix” of “Slut Me Out 2.”
