Chrissy Costanza, born on August 23, 1995, in New Jersey, comes from an Italian-American family and has a younger brother named Michael. From a young age, she dreamt of becoming a musician. She attended The Village School in Waldwick, New Jersey, then moved on to Immaculate Heart Academy. Afterward, she spent some time at Fordham University between 2013 and 2014.
Chrissy’s journey into music began when she met her future bandmates, Dan Gow and Will Ferri, through a mutual friend in 2011. They formed the band Against The Current and started creating original songs, mostly with lyrics written by Chrissy herself. Their YouTube channel gained attention as they posted covers of popular songs, and in 2012, they released their debut single, “Thinking.” Chrissy also ventured into beauty content by launching her own YouTube channel, showcasing her skills outside of music.
Against The Current quickly rose in popularity, touring with Alex Goot in 2013. Over the years, Chrissy has become known as the powerful vocalist of the band, captivating audiences worldwide. Currently, she attracts over 4.5 million monthly listeners on Spotify and has amassed over 3 billion streams. But Chrissy is now venturing into solo music, marking a new phase in her career.
Her debut solo single, “7 Minutes In Hell,” dropped recently and sets the stage for her upcoming EP, *VII*, scheduled for release on October 9, 2024. This EP contains seven tracks that showcase a fresh direction in her music. One of her singles, “If Looks Could Kill,” reflects on a love so intense it feels as if the two souls are entwined forever, drawing inspiration from Romeo and Juliet. Chrissy describes it as the kind of love that feels destined, making you feel like you’re dying and being reborn over and over again. With her solo journey underway, Chrissy’s fans are eager to see what this new chapter brings.
