GloRilla, whose real name is Gloria Hallelujah Woods, was born on July 28, 1999, and is an American rapper from Memphis, Tennessee. She gained recognition for her 2022 single “F.N.F. (Let’s Go)” (with Hitkidd), which reached the top 50 of the Billboard Hot 100 and received a nomination for Best Rap Performance at the 65th Annual Grammy Awards. Following the success of the single, she signed with Yo Gotti’s record label, Collective Music Group, in July 2022.
Her subsequent single, “Tomorrow,” was remixed with Cardi B and became her first top-ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100, earning double platinum certification from the RIAA. These songs, along with the gold-certified single “Blessed,” preceded the release of her debut EP, “Anyways, Life’s Great,” in November 2022, which debuted at number 11 on the Billboard 200. She won the Best New Hip-Hop Artist award at the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards and a similar category at the 2023 iHeartRadio Music Awards.
In 2024, her singles “Yeah Glo!” and “Wanna Be” (with Megan Thee Stallion) both reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. These tracks preceded the release of her debut commercial mixtape, “Ehhthang Ehhthang,” in 2024, which peaked at number 18 on the Billboard 200. Her third top-40 single of the year, “TGIF,” precedes her upcoming debut studio album, “Glorious,” set to release in 2024.
GloRilla has recently revealed the tracklist for her debut album, “Glorious,” featuring collaborations with artists such as Sexyy Red, Latto, Muni Long, Megan Thee Stallion, T-Pain, Muni Long, BossMan Dlow, and Fridayy. The album will consist of 15 tracks, with guest features on all but five songs. Notable collaborations include Sexyy Red on “Whatchu Kno About Me,” Megan Thee Stallion on “How I Look,” and Latto on “Procedure.” The album will also feature gospel legends like Kirk Franklin, Chandler Moore, Kierra Sheard, and Maverick City Music on “Rain Down On Me.”
GloRilla aims to explore different vibes and genres through this album, expressing a range of experiences. While she is known for her energetic and fun style, she also intends to convey real emotions and delve into gospel and R&B.
The album will include solo tracks such as “Stop Playing,” “I Ain’t Going,” and “Let Her Cook,” as well as collaborations with Fridayy on the album closer “Queen of Memphis” and with BossMan Dlow on “Step.” This debut album follows her mixtapes “Ehhthang Ehhthang,” which included “Yeah Glo!” and “Wanna Be,” and 2022’s “Anyways, Life’s Great,” which featured “Tomorrow 2” with Cardi B.
