American Authors, formerly known as the Blue Pages, is an American rock band originally from Boston, now based in New York City. The band consists of lead vocalist and guitarist Zac Barnett, bassist Dave Rublin, and drummer Matt Sanchez. Former member James Adam Shelley played guitar and banjo. They are best known for their hit singles “Believer” and “Best Day of My Life” from their debut album, “Oh, What a Life,” as well as their top 20 hits “Go Big or Go Home” from their second album, “What We Live For.” The band was previously signed to Island Records and now releases music independently.

After releasing their fourth studio album, “Best Night of My Life,” American Authors announced in June 2023 that they were working on their next album. On July 17, 2023, the band posted a short video on several platforms explaining some of the thought processes behind the new album. Drummer Matt Sanchez explained that they were drawing inspiration from Crosby, Stills & Nash and that they aimed to pay homage to past sounds and reinvent them for a new audience. The album was recorded throughout 2023 in multiple recording sessions, resulting in over 40 songs. By January 2024, the band was putting the finishing touches on the album.

The upcoming fifth studio album, “Call Your Mother,” is primarily produced by the band’s own Matt Sanchez. It is scheduled to be released worldwide independently on October 18, 2024. The lead single, “My Last Dime,” was released on March 29, 2024, followed by the second single, “Daisies,” on April 19, 2024. The third single, “Save Tonight,” a cover of Eagle-Eye Cherry’s song, was released on May 17, 2024. “Can’t Stand the Mourning” was released as a single on June 21, followed by the fifth single, “Something Amazing,” featuring Rozes, on July 26, 2024. The album’s sixth single, “Come Too Far,” was released on August 23, 2024.
