Richard D. James, known professionally as Aphex Twin, has released his first official track in five years titled “Blackbox Life Recorder 21f”. The way is part of a four-track EP called “Blackbox Life Recorder 21f / In a Room7 F760,” which will be available on July 28th through Warp. Aphex Twin recently performed at Sónar 2023 in Barcelona, and fans were given a heads-up on Twitter to look out for something special in the project area and at the merchandise desk. Posters with QR codes were put up in Los Angeles on June 20th, which, when scanned with the augmented reality app YXBoZXh0d2lu, play music and animation.
Aphex Twin will headline London’s Field Day Festival in August. He recently appeared on social media in photos posted by Arca and has been working on a new synthesizer and software plugin for unique synth tunings.
