Daylyt – A Plate Of Collard Greens Feat. J. Cole Download MP3 Free Files
J. Cole collaborated with Daylyt earlier this year on the track “Pi” from his album “Might Delete Later.” Now, Daylyt has released a new single called “A Plate Of Collard Greens,” which features J. Cole. The song is based on a soulful sample and showcases the two rappers focusing on their lyrical skills.
Jermaine Lamarr Cole was born on January 28, 1985, at an American military base in Frankfurt, West Germany. His father is an African American veteran who served in the U.S. Army, and his mother, Kay, was born in Michigan and worked as a postal worker for the United States Postal Service. Cole’s father left the family when he was young, and at eight months old, his mother moved with him and his older brother Zach to the United States, settling in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Cole grew up in a diverse environment and has spoken about how his ethnic background has influenced him. He expressed that he can identify with his mother’s side of the family, who are white, but he has never felt completely white. He also shared his passion for basketball and music during his youth, serving as a first-chair violinist for the Terry Sanford Orchestra until 2003.
In his verse on “A Plate Of Collard Greens,” Cole includes references to pop culture, such as mentioning Boston Celtics star Jayson Tatum and making a nod to Michael Jackson. He also raps about his difficult childhood experiences, including struggling with unpaid bills and the impact of poverty on his family.
The song is part of Cole’s recent collaborations, which have included tracks with ASAP Rocky, Anderson .Paak, and Cordae (as a producer), as well as Tems.
