Orla Gartland, born on February 3, 1995, is an Irish singer, songwriter, and musician. In 2021, she released her debut album, “Woman On The Internet,” which reached number 3 on the Irish album chart, number 1 on the UK Indie Chart, and number 10 on the UK album chart.
She has also released five EPs: “Freckle Season” (2020), “Why Am I Like This?” (2019), “Lonely People” (2015), “Roots” (2013), and “Laughing at My Own Jokes” (2012). In 2023, she joined the supergroup Fizz, with Dodie, Greta Isaac, and Martin Luke Brown. Their debut album, “The Secret to Life,” was released on October 27, 2023, on Decca Records.

After playing enchanting shows, Orla became part of the all-star bedroom pop team FIZZ.
Recently revealed, Orla Gartland has announced plans for a new album. Her second solo LP, “Everybody Needs A Hero,” will be released this Autumn. The album was created between her own London studio and Middle Farm Studios in Devon.
Set to be released on October 4th, the album is led by the new single “The Hit,” featuring a voodoo doll on the cover art, which ties to the song itself. Orla explains that the image is a parallel to a relationship where you’re so connected that it hurts. She describes it as a nice gesture, showing that you care about the person so much that when they’re in pain, you feel it too. However, she emphasizes that there’s a point where it can become unhealthy and unsustainable.
