Polo G unleashe a new single “Angels In The Sky.” The soulful single is part of Polo G‘s highly anticipated album “Hood Poet” which is set to drop on August 9th, 2024.
‘Hood Poet’ stands for “He Overcame Obstacles During Pain Or Emotional Trauma” and is Polo G’s fourth full-length studio album following the release of “Hall of Fame 2.0,” the deluxe edition of his third studio album in December 2021, and his third studio album “Hall of Fame” in June 2021.
Initially, the album was speculated to be a joint project with super-producer Southside, but it was later clarified that the project would be a solo endeavor.
After the release of “Distraction,” the lead single from the album, Polo G hinted at the project by using a tornado emoji. He continued to tease the project throughout 2023 with the release of several notable singles, such as “My All” and the Future-assisted “No Time Wasted.”
In August 2023, posters featuring lyrics from the upcoming album along with a QR code began to appear in Los Angeles.
Polo officially announced the project on August 15, 2023, alongside the release of the album’s trailer. He also revealed that the album’s second single, “Barely Holdin’ On,” would be released at the end of the week.
However, Polo later postponed the album’s release until further notice due to a “minor setback,” which was speculated to be linked to his ongoing legal battle.

Rapper Taurus Tremani Bartlett, whose real name is Polo G, was born in the United States on January 6, 1999. His hits “Finer Things” and “Pop Out” (with Lil Tjay) helped him gain popularity. The RIAA certified his debut album Die a Legend (2019) platinum after it peaked at number six on the US Billboard 200.
Ten of the tracks on Bartlett’s second studio album, The Goat (2020), charted on the Billboard Hot 100 list and it peaked at number two on the Billboard 200. Hall of Fame (2021), his third studio album, was well received and went on to become Bartlett’s first album to reach the top of the charts. It also produced his first number-one song, “Rapstar.”
Born on January 6, 1999, Taurus Tremani Bartlett grew up in the Marshall Field Garden Apartments, a north side Chicago, Illinois area that is home to Taurus Bartlett and Stacia Mac. Bartlett is managed by Mac, a former property manager. He is the younger brother of Taurean, a rapper who goes by the stage name Trench Baby, and an older sister. He is the second of four children. Following his high school graduation, Bartlett was accepted to Lincoln University with a broadcasting major. However, he chose to pursue a full-time career in music instead of attending on his first day. He belongs to the Chicago-based gang Vice Lords, which has a history of conflict with other gangs, including the Gangster Disciples.
