Bright Eyes is coming back with their first new album in four years, “Five Dice, All Threes,” set to be released on September 20 via Dead Oceans. The lead single, “Bells and Whistles,” comes with a music video directed by Josh Boone, featuring a magical photo booth. Singer Conor Oberst describes the song as about the small details in life that may seem insignificant at first but shape our destiny.

The album will also feature guest appearances from Cat Power, Matt Berninger of the National, and Alex Orange Drink of the So So Glos, who also co-wrote some songs with Bright Eyes for this album. “Five Dice, All Threes” was self-produced and recorded at ARC, the studio of Bright Eyes members Mike Mogis and Conor Oberst in Omaha, Nebraska. This new album follows their 2020 comeback record, “Down in the Weeds, Where the World Once Was.” Bright Eyes will be going on tour in support of the new album, starting with a show at Brooklyn Steel in New York on September 19. They will also be playing a few other U.S. shows before heading to Europe in November, including headlining sets at Riot Fest and Best Friends Forever Festival.
