Oakley Neil Caesar-Su, born on 4 June 1998, is known professionally as Central Cee. He is a British rapper and songwriter from Shepherd’s Bush, London. Central Cee gained prominence in 2020 with the release of his singles “Day in the Life” and “Loading.” His first mixtape, “Wild West,” was released on 12 March 2021, debuting at number two on the UK Albums Chart. His second mixtape, “23,” followed on 25 February 2022 and debuted at the top of the UK Albums Chart.
He succeeded further with his single “Doja” in July 2022, which peaked at number two on the UK Singles Chart and became the most streamed UK rap song on Spotify. In October 2022, he released his first major-label EP, “No More Leaks.” In June 2023, he released the single “Sprinter” with Dave, which marked Central Cee‘s first UK number-one single. This track preceded their collaborative EP, “Split Decision,” and set a record as the longest-running number-one rap song in the UK, staying at the top for 10 weeks.
Central Cee has been on a remarkable trajectory recently, releasing a series of impactful singles, including collaborations with Ice Spice and Lil Baby. He is now preparing for his latest album, making his debut appearance on the Berlin-based music channel COLORS with a new single titled “One By One.”
Since his debut mixtape, “Wild West,” Central Cee has gradually shared more of his personal experiences with his listeners. His previous singles reflect his love affairs and how he navigates fame. “One By One” encapsulates these themes more than ever, as his energetic delivery explores success, loss, and resilience.
