David Gilmour – Luck and Strange” Album Download ZIP & MP3 Free Files
David Jon Gilmour CBE born 6 March 1946, is an English guitarist, singer, and songwriter. He is known as a key member of the legendary rock band Pink Floyd, joining in 1967 before founder member Syd Barrett’s departure. By the early 1980s, Pink Floyd had become one of the best-selling and most acclaimed acts in music history. Following Roger Waters’ departure in 1985, Pink Floyd continued under Gilmour’s leadership, releasing three more studio albums.
Beyond Pink Floyd, Gilmour has produced various artists, including the Dream Academy. He has also released four solo studio albums: “David Gilmour” (1978), “About Face” (1984), “On an Island” (2006), and “Rattle That Lock” (2015). His fifth solo album, “Luck and Strange,” is scheduled for release in September 2024. Gilmour is also credited with bringing singer-songwriter Kate Bush to public attention by funding her early recordings and helping her secure a record contract.
The highly-anticipated “Luck and Strange” is set to be released on 6th September through Sony Music. Gilmour recently introduced the album to a select audience in an underground auditorium, setting a captivating ambiance before delving into a mesmerizing rock experience. The album is deeply rooted in the experiences of the ongoing pandemic.
With Gilmour’s wife, Polly Samson, leading the lyrical direction, the album brings to life years of unexpressed themes, thoughts, and emotions. Describing the album as some of his best work, Gilmour chose a fresh approach to its production, enlisting award-winning producer Charlie Andrew (from Alt-J) to infuse a modern touch into the music.
Featuring talented musicians such as Tom Herbert and Guy Pratt on bass, Steve Gadd, Adam Betts, and Steve DiStanislao on drums, as well as Rob Gentry and Roger Eno on keyboards, “Luck and Strange” also includes recordings made with Pink Floyd keyboardist Richard Wright during a jam session at Gilmour’s barn in 2007.
There’s a poignant moment in the album as it pays homage to the late Richard Wright, who passed away in 2008, by including snippets of his acclaimed work. Additionally, Gilmour’s daughter, Romany, delivers a stunning performance as the lead vocalist on one of the tracks, adding her own beautiful touch to the album.
