D’banj, also known as the Kokomaster or Bangalee, was born in Zaria, the northern part of Nigeria to a military officer father and a devoutly religious businesswoman mother from Shagamu in Ogun State. Dbanj has twins as siblings, Taiwo and Kehinde Oyebanjo.
D’banj has made a comeback with a new album titled “The Entertainer: The Sequel.” Before the album’s release, fans were treated to three singles—“04,” “Koko” and “Worthy”—which set the stage for this new project.
As a follow-up to his 2008 album “The Entertainer,” the album features a masterful blend of Afrobeats and Afropop across 11 tracks, with two exclusive bonus cuts.
It features collaborations with Grammy-winning Wyclef Jean, African music icons Awilo Logomba and Youssou N’Dour, global superstar Akon, South African sensation DJ Maphorisa, and ‘The Voice’ star Chechi Sarai. D’banj also teams up with some of Nigeria’s finest, including Timaya, Peruzzi, Kayswitch, and Zlatan.

About Artist:
Nigerian singer and rapper Daniel Oyebanjo, better known by his stage name D’banj, was born on June 9, 1980. In order to release his 2012 single “Oliver Twist,” an upbeat dance hybrid of EDM and Afrobeats for which he became best known, he signed with American rapper Kanye West’s record label GOOD Music. He co-founded Mo’ Hits Records, a record label, alongside record producer Don Jazzy. His stage name is an amalgam of his last name, Oyebanjo, and first name, Dapo.
No Long Thing, D’banj’s debut album, was made available in 2005. Tongolo was the breakout lead single and the first of several singles it produced. It also gave rise to his Koko Master identity, since the word “koko” has multiple connotations. Following his debut, D’banj worked with various musicians, such as Dare Art Alade and Ikechukwu.
