The rapper-singer is exploring Eurodance in this new track and has already received praise from SZA, who called it “the craziest song I’ve heard all year” on social media after an early listen.
Doechii had a big hit with her previous single ‘What It Is (Block Boy)’ and is set to release a new album later this year. The accompanying music video for ‘Alter Ego’ is also visually stunning. You can watch it below.

About Doechii
Jaylah Ji’mya Hickmon, professionally known as Doechii, is an American rapper and singer born on August 14, 1998, in Tampa, Florida. She rose to fame in 2021 with the viral success of her song “Yucky Blucky Fruitcake” on TikTok.
In 2022, she signed with Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records, where she released her second EP, “She/Her/Black Bitch”. Her single “What It Is (Block Boy)” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2023, marking her first appearance on the chart.
She was also awarded the Rising Star Award from Billboard Women in Music in 2023 and has been nominated for two MTV Video Music Awards, a BET Award, and two Soul Train Music Awards.
Doechii attended Howard W. Blake High School in Tampa and grew up doing ballet, tap dancing, acting, cheerleading, and gymnastics. She describes her upbringing as Christian.
