The album is set to be released by Atlantic Records on October 18. In a joint statement, Miranda and Davis expressed their excitement about sharing the songs with the public and working with their favorite artists on this project.
“The Warriors” is a film directed by Walter Hill, based on Sol Yurick’s 1965 novel of the same name. The movie tells the story of a New York street gang’s journey from the Bronx to Coney Island after being framed for the murder of a powerful gang leader. The film is known for its iconic lines, including David Patrick Kelly’s taunting call, “Warriors, come out to play-ay!”
Since gaining widespread recognition with “Hamilton” in 2015, Lin-Manuel Miranda has continued his musical endeavors with projects like “Moana,” “In the Heights,” “Encanto,” and “The Hamilton Mixtape,” which features Nas on the track “Wrote My Way Out.”
