Eminem has announced a surprise release for his fans, coinciding with Friday the 13th this month. He revealed “The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce) Expanded Mourner’s Edition” in a video clip showing him walking into a convenience store, picking up a carton of milk, and dropping it on the ground. The milk carton features a missing ad for his Slim Shady alter ego. After leaving the store, producer Alchemist appears and tells him to never return.
“The Death of Slim Shady (Coup De Grâce) [Expanded Mourner’s Edition]” is an expanded version of Eminem’s twelfth studio album. Notable changes include a remix of “Fuel” with Shady Record label-mates, GRIP and WESTSIDE BOOGIE, and the inclusion of “Like My Shit” and “Kyrie & Luka,” which were previously available on the digital deluxe. The album was announced on Eminem’s social media on September 10, 2024.
This album marks the end of Eminem’s Slim Shady chapter, serving as a concept album for him to bid farewell to his alter ego. The album includes singles such as “Houdini” and “Tobey” featuring Big Sean and Babytron, as well as “Somebody Save Me” featuring Jelly Roll, which were among his biggest hits.

About Artist:
Marshall Bruce Mathers III, known professionally as Eminem, was born on October 17, 1972. He is an American rapper and music producer credited with popularizing hip hop in Middle America. Regarded as one of the greatest rappers of all time, Eminem‘s success is considered to have broken racial barriers in popular music, paving the way for white rappers. While his controversial work in the late 1990s and early 2000s sparked debate, he also became a voice for popular angst among the American underclass and influenced many artists.
His most successful songs on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 include “The Real Slim Shady”, “Without Me”, “Lose Yourself”, “Not Afraid”, “Love the Way You Lie”, “The Monster”, “Godzilla”, and “Houdini”.
After the release of his debut album “Infinite” in 1996 and the extended play “Slim Shady EP” in 1997, Eminem signed with Dr. Dre’s Aftermath Entertainment. He achieved mainstream popularity with “The Slim Shady LP” in 1999. His next two releases, “The Marshall Mathers LP” (2000) and “The Eminem Show” (2002), were worldwide successes and were nominated for the Grammy Award for Album of the Year, with the latter becoming the best-selling album worldwide in 2002.
Following the release of his next album, “Encore” in 2004, Eminem went on hiatus largely due to a prescription drug addiction. He returned to the music industry with the releases of “Relapse” in 2009 and “Recovery” in 2010, with the latter becoming the best-selling album worldwide in 2010.
