About English Teacher

English Teacher is a musical group from Leeds, UK, which was formed in 2020. The band comprises Lily Fontaine as the vocalist, Lewis Whiting as the guitarist, Douglas Frost as the drummer, and Nicholas Eden as the bassist.

In November 2023, the band made an appearance on Later… with Jools Holland. Time magazine recognized their song “Nearly Daffodils” as one of the ten best songs of 2023.

The band’s first extended play, Polyawkward, was released on April 22, 2022, under the label Nice Swan Records. The EP was featured in NME 100 debut EPs, and NME described it as “the playful yet polished Polyawkward, sees fury and fun overlap.”

In January 2024, the band announced their upcoming debut album, This Could Be Texas, which is scheduled for release on April 12.
