The album explores themes of identity, insecurity, ego, and self-fulfillment while containing distinct production and powerful vocal delivery. Fletcher acts as the creative pivot and examines her ultra-vivid storytelling and unfiltered introspection, making the record personal.
The singer reveals that she has been looking for “the antidote in so many things” over the years, such as “women, the road, the stage, fans, spirituality, and self-reflection”. Cari Elise Fletcher, an American pop singer, was born on March 19, 1994.
She is known by her last name “Fletcher” and began taking vocal lessons at the age of five. Her father owned several car dealerships and her mother was a flight attendant. She graduated from Wall High School in Wall Township, New Jersey in 2012, where she played women’s volleyball.
After high school, she attended the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music at New York University (NYU) and took a year-long leave of absence to pursue music full time in Nashville, Tennessee. Fletcher completed her studies at NYU in 2016, and she currently resides in Los Angeles.
Fletcher’s debut single as a solo artist, “War Paint”, was released in June 2015. In 2016, her single “Wasted Youth” reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Emerging Artist Chart. However, her breakthrough single “Undrunk” was released in January 2019 and became her first single to chart on the Billboard Hot 100.
The song reached number one on Spotify’s Viral Chart in the United States. “Undrunk” was released on her second extended play “You Ruined New York City for Me”, and according to Mediabase, the song was the fastest-rising song at pop radio for a new artist since 2014.
Fletcher’s achievements have been recognized, as Forbes included her on their 2022 30 under 30 list. She also released her debut album, “Girl of My Dreams” in 2022.
