Aplin’s debut album, English Rain, received positive reviews, and it was released in May 2013. It debuted at number two on the UK Album Chart and was followed by singles such as “Please Don’t Say You Love Me,” “Panic Cord,” “Home,” and “Salvation.” English Rain has been certified Gold in the UK, having sold over 100,000 copies. Aplin has released several extended plays throughout her career. Her second album, Light Up the Dark, was released in September 2015, followed by the release of her third album, Dear Happy, in January 2020.

Gabrielle Ann Aplin is an English singer-songwriter, born on 10 October 1992. She gained popularity through her acoustic music covers on YouTube and signed a recording deal with Parlophone in February 2012. Aplin’s cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood’s “The Power of Love” was selected for a John Lewis television commercial in November 2012, which topped the UK Singles Chart.
Aplin grew up in Chippenham, Wiltshire, and is the eldest of three children. Her parents bought her first guitar when she was eleven years old. She is a fan of singer-songwriters Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, as well as the rock band The National. Aplin studied music at Bath College and participated in the college’s in-house label, BA1 Records.
It is worth noting that her fourth album, Phosphorescent, is set to be released in January 2023.
