Halo Maud‘s “Celebrate” Album Download Leak MP3 ZIP Files
French musician Halo Maud will release her second album titled “Celebrate” on March 22 through the Heavenly record label.
This announcement comes after an eventful year in which she collaborated with The Chemical Brothers on four songs on their new album, and also gave birth to her first child.
Maud says “For me, music contains what words cannot. It has the power to shape things and I hope to find this while taking random bits from the pitch of each note, their texture and their timbres. I then mix them together until the sound resembles what is inside me.
When everything fits together well, the words settle in with the music to spread their clues. That’s when the song is ready.” She named the album “Celebrate” because she danced a lot while creating it and now feels that she can release it into the air. Maud hopes that the album will find its way into the hands and ears of listeners and resonate within them through multiple waves.
“Celebrate” features “Catch the Wave,” and the new single from the album is “Terres Infinies” (“Infinite Lands”). The song features an infectious “Ba ba ba ba” chorus and was produced by Greg Saunier of Deerhoof. The inspiration for the song came from a Soviet sci-fi classic and Maud says of the song “A friend suggested that I see the film ‘Stalker’ by Tarkovski. The general ambience haunted me for some time. I began to have a recurring dream of a dried-up and deserted landscape that I had to traverse, without looking back, to find fertile lands.
Then I realized this wasn’t too far from the actual state of affairs. I needed to cultivate a sense of humour about it. Simply put, turn this vision upside down. I imagined a place where we could drink directly from the clouds and read our futures in the trees, which is where this song came from. I produced it, along with a few others on the album, in collaboration with Greg Saunier. Discovering his group – Deerhoof – was one of the biggest musical shocks of my life. Working with him was a dream come true.”
