Hippo Campus has officially announced their best album to date, called “Flood.” The band, consisting of four childhood friends, had to start over and surrender five years of work to create this record. The album, set to be released on September 20th under Psychic Hotline, was recorded in just 10 days on the Texas border at Sonic Ranch with producers Caleb Wright and Brad Cook. The band experienced personal challenges, including the unexpected passing of a loved one, which led them to reevaluate their creative process. They got sober together, wrote over 100 songs, and realized that they were not satisfied with what they were producing.

Despite their previous successes, including billions of streams and sold-out shows, the band felt that their previous work was not good enough. They decided to let go of preconceived notions of how they should sound and focused on forward momentum. Less than two weeks later, they emerged with “Flood,” a record that represents a rebirth for the band.
