On November 3, 2023, Jungkook, a member of the South Korean boy band BTS, released his debut solo studio album, Golden.

The album has 11 tracks and features guest appearances from Jack Harlow, Major Lazer, Latto, and DJ Snake. BloodPop, DJ Snake, and Diplo produce the record.

Golden follows two Billboard Hot 100 top 5 hits, “Seven” and “3D.” “Seven,” a pop&b track featuring Latto, became his first US No. 1 single as a soloist and recently became the fastest song in history to accumulate over one billion streams on Spotify. “3D,” a collaboration with American rapper Jack Harlow, debuted and peaked at No. 5 on the Hot 100.

Jungkook has also released several solo singles, including 2022’s “Stay Alive” and a featured turn on Charlie Puth’s “Left and Right.” In the lead-up to Golden, he also appeared on “Too Much,” a collaboration with The Kid LAROI and Central Cee that has since peaked at No. 44 on the Hot 100. With its No. 10 debut on the UK Singles Chart, “Too Much” helped Jung Kook become the first South Korean soloist to score three UK top 10 singles.

Golden is a tribute to Jungkook’s “golden moments” as a solo artist and showcases his unique voice that captivates listeners worldwide. The album’s title is a nod to his nickname, “Golden Maknae,” which refers to him as the youngest member of BTS.

Jungkook will be making his solo Tonight Show debut on Monday, Nov. 6, just three days after Golden’s release. Host Jimmy Fallon announced the news with an Instagram video on Wednesday, Nov. 1.
