Kep1er’s fifth mini album, Magic Hour, was released on September 25, 2023. The album’s title track is “Galileo”. The physical album is available in 13 versions, including Moonlighted, Sunkissed, Beloved, two Unit versions (Tape and Tropical Light), and nine individual Platform versions.
Kep1er (케플러) is a girl group formed in 2021 through Girls Planet 999, managed by Swing Entertainment and WakeOne.
The group Kep1er was formed through Mnet’s survival show, Girls Planet 999. It consists of nine members, namely Yujin, Mashiro, Xiaoting, Chaehyun, Dayeon, Hikaru, Huening Bahiyyih, Youngeun, and Yeseo. The group’s name is a blend of “capture” and “one” with ‘Ke’ rhyming with ‘capture’.
It represents how the members ironically captured their dreams, while the number 1 signifies how they came together and became a unity. The name is also rumored to be a reference to a German astronomer, Johannes Kepler, who is known for his laws of planetary motion.
Kep1er was originally scheduled to make their debut on December 14, 2021. However, due to complications concerning the group’s staff being infected with COVID-19, it was postponed to January 3, 2022. At the same time, their first mini-album, FIRST IMPACT, was released, which was supported by the title track “WA DA DA.”
