Lil Durk just dropped a hot new single called “Late Checkout,” featuring Hunxho! This track is part of his upcoming album, Deep Thoughts, which is set to be released on October 18, 2024. It’s exciting because this will be Lil Durk’s ninth studio album, following his last release, Almost Healed, in May 2023. This new project is also a continuation of his earlier work, Love Songs 4 the Streets 2.

After Almost Healed, fans were buzzing about a deluxe version of the album, but it seems that didn’t happen due to some leaks. When a fan asked about it, Lil Durk mentioned he had fresh music coming soon. On December 11, 2023, he revealed he was working on a new album, and just days later, he announced that the new project would dive into themes of pain.

Fast forward to January 22, 2024, when Lil Durk shared that he was also working on Love Songs 4 the Streets 3, which fans had been waiting for almost five years. Three days later, Kanye West encouraged him to get back on Instagram to start releasing music. That’s when Durk confirmed that Love Songs 4 the Streets 3 was finished!

On January 26, he teased a snippet of the album’s lead single, “Old Days.” Just a few days later, he hinted at a collaboration with Lil Baby, marking their first project together since The Voice of the Heroes in June 2021. Things were moving fast!

On February 15, he shared another snippet of a new song, which he later confirmed would be part of the album, setting the release date for “Old Days” on February 23. March brought us another teaser titled “Champions,” and by April, Lil Durk shared a clip of a new song that turned into “Turn Up A Notch,” released on September 25.

Then came June 15, when he tweeted “I’m back 💡” and showed he had the final mixes for Love Songs 4 the Streets 3. A few days later, he released another snippet for a song titled “Went Hollywood For A Year,” which dropped on June 28.

By September 24, he hinted that “Turn Up A Notch” was coming soon, and it was released a bit earlier than expected on September 26. After teasing the music video for “Monitoring Me,” the song was finally released on October 4. That day, he also shared the news that his album was no longer called Love Songs 4 The Streets 3 but would be titled Deep Thoughts. He mentioned it was for “the people from the trenches,” showing his connection to his roots.

While it’s not entirely clear why he changed the album’s title, fans suspect it might have something to do with his music leaking before its release. Whatever the case, Durk’s fans are excited for what’s coming next!
