WSTRN is composed of Akelle Charles, Haile, and Louis Rei. Despite the misleading name, it symbolizes positive vibes and represents “West London’s turn to shut down the scene.” Akelle and Haile are cousins who met Louis, a former footballer for Staines Town F.C., while living in West London.
Akelle is the brother of singer Angel and was part of a band called the Charles Family along with his three other siblings. The band was co-managed by the late reggae singer Smiley Culture and Akelle’s father, Tendai Charles. Rei’s father is Gary Beadle.
Louis Rei, an integral part of WSTRN, has released his highly anticipated solo EP, INHALE. The seven-track project showcases Rei’s versatility, blending smooth melodies with hard-hitting bars. Recent singles like “SHIESTY” and “WHO AM I” set the tone for the EP, combining introspective lyricism with infectious beats.
