There is an unreleased Metro Boomin song called “You & Me” which was originally intended to feature on the soundtrack of the Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse movie. The song features Ice Spice and Rema.
On May 10, 2023, a preview of the song was released via a Hyundai advertisement for the movie. However, the song did not appear on the movie’s official soundtrack, and it is unclear whether it will be released at all. On September 23, 2023, a second snippet of the song surfaced online.
Metro Boomin is a record producer and executive known by his nicknames Young Metro and simply Metro. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, but now resides in Atlanta. He developed an interest in beat-making in his early teens and started producing music using FruityLoops, a software gifted to him by his mother. Initially, he wanted to be a rapper, but he later discovered his passion for music production. For an extended period of time, he produced over 5 beats every day.
Metro Boomin later moved to Atlanta, Georgia, where he had already established a relationship with Atlanta trap legend, Gucci Mane. He attended Morehouse College after high school, pursuing a degree in business management, but he dropped out after a single semester to focus on production. He released his debut album, 19 & Boomin, as a rapper, but he found more success as a music producer. He has since worked with numerous major rappers and R&B acts and has become a widely recognized producer in his own right. He became popular after executively producing Drake & Future’s project, What a Time to Be Alive.
He has collaborated on several projects, such as 21 Savage’s Savage Mode, NAV’s Perfect Timing, and Offset’s Without Warning, among others. He released his debut album, NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES, which features A-list artists like Travis Scott, Offset, 21 Savage, and others. In December 2022, he unveiled his second solo studio album and eighth project overall, HEROES & VILLAINS, a sequel to his 2018 debut album, NOT ALL HEROES WEAR CAPES, with features from frequent collaborators 21 Savage, Future, and Travis Scott, along with other superstars like Don Toliver, A$AP Rocky, John Legend, and the late Takeoff.
Rema is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter who gained initial recognition in 2019 with his hit song, “Dumebi.” He was signed to Jonzing World, a record label owned by Nigerian singer D’Prince and affiliated with Mavin Records.
Ice Spice, whose real name is Isis Naija Gaston, is an American rapper from the Bronx borough of New York City. She started her musical career in 2021 after meeting American record producer RiotUSA.
