Mr Eazi’s “The Evil Genius” Album Download MP3 ZIP Files
Mr. Eazi has released his official debut album, The Evil Genius, which showcases his signature Banku sound – a blend of Afrobeat and highlife music.
The project features 16 tracks, including collaborations with Angélique Kidjo, Tekno, Efya, Joeboy, Whoisakin, and the Soweto Gospel Choir. The album was produced by Mr Eazi himself and Burna Boy collaborator Kel-P.
In addition to the music, Eazi commissioned 16 works of art by African artists to accompany each track on the album, creating a pan-African visual identity. The album was recorded in different parts of the world, including Benin, Ghana, Nigeria, Rwanda, the U.S., and the U.K.
Mr Eazi has been a prominent figure in the world of Afrobeats for years, having collaborated with global artists such as Beyoncé and Diplo. He has been critical of broad catchall genre terms used to describe music from Africa, advocating for more nuanced categorization.
The Evil Genius establishes Eazi’s soulman bona fides on the elegant, subdued “Legalize,” and on “Òròkórò,” he shares the mic with iconic Beninese singer Angélique Kidjo. The album’s centerpiece is the swaying banger “We Dey,” titled after a pidgin phrase meaning “we are here.” The song was recorded in L.A. and inspired by protests against police brutality in Nigeria.

Mr Eazi personally handpicked 13 artists representing eight African countries, inviting them to collaborate in a process he describes as informal and instinctual. The production credits boast an impressive roster of talent, with contributions from Kel-P (Nigeria), Knucks (U.K.), Michael Brun (Haiti), M.O.G Beatz (Ghana), Andre Vibez (Nigeria), Killbeatz (Ghana), E Kelly (Nigeria), Type A (Nigeria), Yung Willis (Nigeria), Nonso Amadi (Nigeria/Canada), Phantom (Nigeria), KDream (Nigeria), and Mr Eazi himself.
Overall, The Evil Genius is a grand and ambitious album highlighting Mr Eazi’s talents as both a curator and an ambassador for African music.
