Even at the age of 50, Nas continues to outperform many other artists in the game, especially when he raps over beats by Hit-Boy. In less than a year, they have released King’s Disease III, Magic 2, and now Magic 3, which have only helped to expand the “Hood 2 Hood” hitmaker’s fanbase. His latest album was released on streaming services this New Music Friday (September 15), and it boasts only one guest feature from Lil Wayne on “Never Die.”
Apart from that, Nas manages to captivate listeners on his own with his clever rhymes, reflecting on everything from the type of women who have caught his eye to solidifying his status as one of the most prolific figures in hip-hop. On the 15-song tracklist, “Pretty Young Girl” is our favorite title, located right in the middle. It appears that Spotify listeners are also fond of this song.
In the later part of his verse, Nas gasses up his dream girl, “I think she’s right for me, and I don’t even know her / I mean the one time I saw her, she was naturally glowing.” He continues, “That’s why I made this song, told the label to promote it / So she can hear it, ’cause even if she doesn’t like rap / This will still find her right where she’s at,” clearly trusting divine timing to bring her into his life.
