About Artist

Rhapsody of Fire, previously known as Rhapsody, is an Italian symphonic power metal band. It was formed by Luca Turilli and Alex Staropoli and is considered a pioneer of the symphonic power metal subgenre. The band has released thirteen studio albums, two live albums, three EPs, and a live DVD since it was formed in 1993 as Thundercross. Rhapsody of Fire is known for its conceptual lyrics, which tell a fantasy story across all of their albums from 1997 to 2011. In 2006, the band changed its name to Rhapsody of Fire due to trademark issues after using the name Rhapsody for nearly ten years.

In 2011, after the release of their album “From Chaos to Eternity,” which concluded The Dark Secret Saga, Luca Turilli left Rhapsody of Fire on good terms after 18 years as co-leader of the band. He went on to form a new band called Luca Turilli’s Rhapsody, along with two other members, Dominique Leurquin and Patrice Guers, who also left with him. They describe their discography as a parallel continuation of Rhapsody of Fire’s discography, with their first album being their own “Rhapsody’s 11th album.” They consider that they didn’t leave the band but rather that it amicably split in two.
