Surf’s “Planet Surf 3” Album Download ZIP & MP3 Free Files
Planet Surf 3, also stylized as PS3, is the third installment in Surf’s Planet Surf series and a direct sequel to 2021’s Planet Surf 2. PS3 is a solo project by the Atlanta rapper and marks a departure from collaborating with the underground music outlet, Grooverelly.
Surf announced the project on March 22, 2023, through a tweet featuring a meme and shared the tape’s cover art and release date two days later: “My Yeezus. May.” Yeezus is Kanye West’s 2013 sixth studio album, which heavily inspired Surf in creating his music. He described Planet Surf 3 as his own Yeezus, both sonically and artistically.
The project was initially promoted as PS3 but eventually evolved into Good Human, as most of the songs that Surf previewed for Planet Surf 3 ended up appearing on that surprise project on May 19, 2023. Surf resumed working on PS3 in February 2024, as indicated by various Instagram posts.
The official artwork for Planet Surf 3 draws significant inspiration from the minimalist CD case artwork of Kanye West’s Yeezus. It is theorized that Kanye chose this stylistic departure for Yeezus because the music was grittier and less radio-friendly. Similarly, Surf’s decision to steer away from Grooverelly and work with the new Against Cxntrol production contrasts with the less gritty, non-rage influenced tracks from earlier in the Planet Surf series. When Surf revealed the cover art and release date, he directly confirmed the album’s correlation to Yeezus, emphasizing the sonic and artistic influence of Kanye West.
