The Mountain Goats’ “Jenny from Thebes” Album Download Leak MP3 ZIP Files
The Mountain Goats have announced that they will release a new album titled “Jenny from Thebes” on October 27, 2023, through Merge Records.
This album is the band’s 22nd studio album, a sequel to their 2002 release “All Hail West Texas.” It is structured as a rock opera and tells the story of a character named “Jenny” from the band’s previous albums.
Jenny from Thebes is about “the individual and society,” focusing on Jenny’s southwestern ranch-style house, the people for whom that house is a place of safety, and the West Texas town that is uncomfortable with its existence.
The album was recorded between January 16–22, 2023, at The Church Studio in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and features performances by John Darnielle, Alicia Bognanno, Matt Douglas, Peter Hughes, Jon Wurster, Matt Nathanson, and Kathy Valentine. The album was preceded by the lead single “Clean Slate,” followed by the singles “Fresh Tattoo” and “Murder at the 18th Street Garage”.
The Mountain Goats’ previous album, “Bleed Out,” was released in 2022 and produced by Bognanno. It drew inspiration from action flicks from the 1960s, ’70s, and ’80s and featured tracks that Darnielle described as “uptempo mini-action movies” filled with their own “plots, characters, heists, hostages, questionable capers, getaway cars, all that stuff.”
Since releasing “Bleed Out,” Darnielle has appeared in Natasha Lyonne and Rian Johnson’s crime comedy “Poker Face,” where he played a guitarist for a one-hit-wonder rock band called Doxology. The band is fronted by a character named Ruby Ruin, played by Chloë Sevigny.

The Mountain Goats are an American band formed by singer-songwriter John Darnielle in Claremont, California. Although Darnielle remains the band’s core member, he has worked with several collaborators over time, including Peter Hughes, Jon Wurster, Matt Douglas, Franklin Bruno, Rachel Ware, John Vanderslice, Kaki King, and Annie Clark. The band was initially known for producing low-fidelity home recordings and releasing recordings in cassette or vinyl 7-inch formats. Since 2002, the Mountain Goats have adopted a more polished approach, often recording studio albums with a full band.
