Tobe Nwigwe’s “HOOD HYMNS” Album Download ZIP & MP3 Free Files
Tobe Nwigwe is from Alief, a neighborhood in Houston, Texas. He’s Nigerian and comes from the Igbo ethnic group. Although he was raised Catholic, he later started going to various nondenominational churches.
Tobe played football in high school and then at the University of North Texas. He was in line to be drafted by the NFL, but an injury kept him from playing. After that, he started TeamGINI, which is named after the Igbo phrase “Gịnị bụ mkpa gị??” meaning “What’s your need?” The nonprofit helps families by giving them gifts to improve their financial knowledge and independence. Encouraged by motivational speaker Eric Thomas, Tobe shifted his focus to music.
It’s been two years since Tobe Nwigwe put out an album, but he’s got new music coming out soon. He announced his new album, “Hood Hymns,” will drop on August 25 through Instagram.
To hype up the release, his daughters, Sage and Ivory, appeared in a video wearing the family’s signature mint green color. They had floral veils, white and mint green braided hair, and dresses with butterflies. They also wore matching lace gloves and white socks with shoes. In the video, they playfully arrange letters on a church bulletin board that say “Tobe Nwigwe Hood Albums 08 25 24” before giggling and leaving the frame.
Earlier this year, Tobe made his debut on Saturday Night Live with Justin Timberlake, performing the song “Sanctified.” He called the performance a “monuMINTal moMINT”—a nod to his previous album “MoMINTS.”
Tobe will also be performing some of his new tracks with the National Symphony Orchestra at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C. on September 18.
