Wale, the Washington D.C. rapper, is back with a new single titled ‘Max Julien,’ named after the actor, sculptor, and fashion designer who was also a D.C. resident like Wale.
It’s been a year and a half since Wale released anything, and he has taken a break from music and social media. However, he signed a contract with Def Jam Records a few months ago, which was announced only recently. Wale released this single following the signing.
In the song, Wale updates his life and talks about his loneliness, isolation, and insecurity. The track also features writing credits from Timbaland and Missy Elliot. Wale is holding no punches on this single, and it’s clear that he’s been working hard on his craft.
