About Artist:

Cameron Jibril Thomaz, born on September 8, 1987, is better known by his stage name Wiz Khalifa. He is an American rapper from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He first signed with the local independent label Rostrum Records to release his debut studio album, “Show and Prove,” in 2006. The following year, he briefly partnered with Warner Bros. Records. His 2008 single, “Say Yeah,” which was influenced by Eurodance, received airplay on urban radio and charted on both the Rhythmic Top 40 and Hot Rap Songs charts, becoming his first minor hit.

After parting ways with Warner Bros., Thomaz independently released his second album, “Deal or No Deal,” in 2009. He then released two more mixtapes before signing with Atlantic Records in July 2010. For his debut single with the label, “Black and Yellow,” he adopted an urban hip-hop-influenced approach. The song, a tribute to his hometown of Pittsburgh, peaked at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 and received two Grammy Award nominations. Two of his subsequent singles, “Roll Up” and “No Sleep,” also made it into the top 40 of the chart. These singles preceded the release of his third album and major label debut, “Rolling Papers,” in 2011. Despite receiving mixed critical reception, the album peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart.
