Noah Olivier Smith (born February 26, 2000), better known as Yeat, is an American recording artist, producer, and engineer from Lake Oswego, Oregon, who currently resides in Los Angeles, California.
He began rapping under the alias Lil Yeat in 2016. His name was changed from Lil Yeat to Yeat two years later, with the release of his song “Brink!” in mid-2018. Deep Blue Strips, Yeat’s first EP, was released in late 2018 after a string of singles. In 2019, Yeat received additional attention after “Stay Up,” the lead single from his second project and first mixtape, Wake Up Call, was featured in a music video on the popular YouTube channel ELEVATOR. On July 18, 2019, Yeat released Different Creature, a collaborative EP with Dutch producer Clibbo, to positive reviews. Yeat gained additional attention after releasing his first full-length album, I’m So Me, at the end of the year, collaborating with popular producers such as Wheezy.
Throughout 2020, Yeat maintained his momentum, releasing two EPs to tide fans over until Different Creature 2. The project was shelved while he dealt with label issues before going independent in 2021. Yeat, now in complete control of his output, began releasing a torrent of music, including twenty-track albums and countless singles. Yeat’s popularity skyrocketed after his songs “Sorry Bout That” and “Dub” went viral on TikTok. Subsequent hits such as “Money Twerk” and “Get Busy” aided in cementing his newfound success.
